OBASANJO SAYS CHIBOK GIRLS COULD HAVE BEEN RESCUED IF GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA HAD ACTED QUICKLY

The former President of the Federal republic of Nigeria , General Olusegun Obasanjo has blamed the present government of Nigeria for failing to act quickly in rescuing the 200 Chibok students abducted by the terrorist group, Boko Haram in 2014.

The former president said that the government of President Goodluck Jonathan didnot foresee the dangers posed by Boko Haram until it was too late.

A disappointed Obasanjo said it took President Goodluck Jonathan 18 days before he contacted the governor of the state where Chibok girls were abducted and the attitude of the government could best be described as "lukewarm"

Obasanjo told a panel at the Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai that the present government didnot initially believe the girls had been abducted.

The abduction of 200 Chibok girls was widely condemned world wide with online petition across the globe asking the government of Nigeria to "BringBackOurGirls"

The 200 Chibok girls are still missing till date.
