This accolade was decided by CFDA President, Diane Von Furstenberg (Owner of DVF Designs) with other board members.
Diane Von Furstenberg said, "If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness" "I can't imagine anyone not seduced by him".
Other celebrities who have received this award before are Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman and Johnny Depp.
