TWO HELICOPTERS COLLIDE IN ARGENTINA KILLING FRENCH SPORTS STARS

French Olympic Gold medal swimmer Camille Muffat, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and Sailor Florence Arthaud were among the dead when two helicopters carrying French sports stars filming a popular reality show crashed in a remote part of Argentina killing 10 people.

The helicopters were thought to have collided mid air.

The 10 casualities included eight French nationals and two Argentine pilots.

The producers of the reality show they were filming, Adventure Line Productions (ADL) released a statement confirming the deaths.

The crash ocurred around 5.15pm local time.

The French President has reacted to the sad news and said, "The brutal demise of our compatriots is an immense sadness"

May their souls rest in peace.
