HIV: UCL SPECIALISTS SAY HIV PROGRESSION 'SPREADS LIKE INTERNET MALWARE' AND REQUIRES EARLY TREATMENT

HIV Specialists and Security Experts from University College (UCL) have suggested that the way HIV spreads through the body resembles that of how computer worms spread to infect multiple computers and as such HIV should be treated early to word off AIDS.

The experts created a new HIV Progression Model and found that HIV spreads through the body using two methods (1) via the bloodstream (2) directly between cells.

17 London based patients were used to verify this model and this new HIV Progression Model accurately predicts patients progression from HIV to AIDS.

HIV infects CD4+T cells -the cells that protect us from diseases and play a vital role in our immune system. As HIV advances, the number of active T cells in the body reduces until the immune system can no longer function properly -a state known as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).

The World Health Organisation (WHO) guideline recommends that HIV treatment commences only once the number of T cells in the bloodstream fall below a certain level, however UCL's model forecasts that treatment commences as soon as possible after infection to prevent AIDS.
