KENYA GIVES UNITED NATIONS 3 MONTHS TO REMOVE MASSIVE SOMALI REFUGEE CAMP

United Nations(UN) has been given three months by Kenya to remove a camp housing more than half a million Somali refugees as part of its get-tough stance against the killing of 148 people by Somali Al Shabab militants at Garissa University College.

Kenya has always suspected Islamist militants of hiding out in Dadaab camp and now want the UN refugee agency UNHCR to move it accross the border to Somali side.

Deputy President, William Ruto said in a statement on Saturday, "We have asked UNHCR to relocate the refugees in three months, failure to which we shall relocate them ourselves." "The way America changed after 9/11 is the way Kenya will change after Garissa".

However, Emmanuel Nyabera, Spokesman for UNHCR in Kenya said they were yet to receive a formal request from Kenyan government on the relocation of Dadaab camp and so could not comment.
