SOUTH AFRICANS MARCH AGAINST XENOPHOBIA


Thousands of South Africans took to the streets of Durban to take part in a rally against Xenophobia following attacks on foreign nationals.
President Jacob Zuma  has described the recent attacks in which at least 5 people died as 'Shocking and Unacceptable'
The Unemployment rate in South Africa is 24 percent and jobless South Africans have accused foreigners of taking up jobs meant for them.
President Zuma told parliament Thursday that no amount of frustration and anger justified the attacks on foreigners and looting of their shops.
He asked that calm be restored in affected areas.
The protesters chanted 'DOWN WITH XENOPHOBIA' and 'A UNITED AFRICA' as they marched through Durban .
