Sierra Leone on Wednesday berated the shameful and selfish behaviour of citizens flouting Ebola quarantine restrictions thus risking the resurgence of the virus.
World Health Organisation had revealed that new cases for Sierra Leone and Guinea quadrupled in a week.
Palo Conteh, Head of Sierra Leone's National Ebola Response Centre (NERC) has told reporters in Freetown that a man, Saidu Conteh, (no relation of Palo) who went on the run while under quarantine was responsible for the enforced isolation of 52 people.
Saidu is said to have escaped a sealed off section of Freetown's densely populated wharf slum after his girlfriend died of Ebola.
He was captured a week after but died at a treatment unit on Sunday, 2 days after being tracked down by Ebola contact tracers.
A friend who escaped with Saidu has also been caught.
52 people have been removed from his building which includes the escapee's mum and are being monitored in an isolation unit.
