Women freed from Boko Haram militants told horror stories as they were held captive. Many of the women said that several people were stoned to death as they refused to run away as the Nigerian military came nearer.
The survivors also said that when they were initially captured men and older boys were killed infront of their families.
Some were forced into marriage and fed once a day. They were not allowed to move an inch out of sight of the terrorists.
Everyday they witnessed the death of one of them and waited their turn.
