Buruji Kashamu, a senator-elect of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ogun East Senatorial District has instituted a legal action against the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and 11 others over an alleged plot to extradite him to USA to face trial over alledged drug related offences.
Kashamu instituted an action before a Federal High Court in Lagos and is seeking a declaration that the move to abduct and forceably transport him to USA is a violation of his right to liberty, freedom of association and freedom of movement.
He alledged that the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo is the mastermind of the plot and the purpose is to ensure that he (Kashamu) does not enjoy the mandate given by his people to represent them at the senate.
