NIGERIA: OIL MARKETERS AGREE TO END PETROL SCARCITY NEXT WEEK

The Federal Government of Nigeria and oil marketers met on Friday and agreed to put an end to fuel scarcity before next week Saturday.
The meeting was attended by stakeholders in the sector comprising top officials from Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, Pipelines and Product Marketing Company and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Heads of the Department of Petroleum Resources, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, Petroleum Equalisation Fund and Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
The Permanent Secretary Petroleum Ministry, Mr. Taiye Haruna said that they agreed to set up a committee of stakeholders to monitor the loading and delivery of products nationwide and efforts to be made to clear long queues before the end of June 13, 2015.
Haruna also said that DPR (Department of Petroleum Resources) would ensure products delivered must be sold at the approved rate N87 per litre.
