In Guinea, there 3 cases in Conakry and one in Coyah. Forecariah reported no cases for the first time since January 2015 although there are over 700 contacts under follow up. All four cases in Guinea are of registered contacts. Also no Ebola deaths were reported in Guinea for the first time since September 2014.
For Liberia, no new cases have been reported.
For Sierra Leone, 3 confirmed cases were reported in Freetown and Tonkolili. 2 cases in Freetown and one case in Tonkolili. The cases in Freetown are registered contacts who were residing in a voluntary quarantine facility at the time symptom onset and were rapidly isolated.
The case from Tonkolili is assessed as posing a substantial risk of further transmission. The case travelled to Tonkolili from an area near the Magazine Wharf neighbourhood to Freetown on 16th July and died on July 23rd in a community hospital where he was confirmed Ebola virus positive after post mortem testing.
