NIGERIA: PRESIDENT BUHARI APPOINTS AMINA ZAKARI AS ACTING CHAIRMAN OF INEC

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mrs Amina Bala Zakari as the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with immediate effect following the departure of Professor Attahiru Jega who completed his five year tenure on Tuesday.
The appointment was communicated through a letter to Mrs Zakari by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi which said the appointment is with immediate effect and would remain in force until a substantive chairman is appointed.
Mrs Zakari until this appointment was a National Electoral Commissioner at INEC.
