FANS REACT TO AUTHOR ANTHONY HOROWITZ REMARK THAT IDRIS ELBA IS TOO STREET TO PLAY JAMES BOND

Fans were outraged over author, Anthony Horowitz remarks that Hollywood actor, Idris Elba is too street to play James Bond.
Anthony is writing the next James Bond novel and fans have perceived Anthony's remarks as racially insensitive.
There have been rumours that Elba is in talks to take over the Bond franchise once Daniel Craig leaves.
In a recent interview, Anthony Horowitz was asked about Elba being cast as James Bond and he had this to say,
"For me Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. Its not a colour issue. I think he is probably a bit 'too street' for 'Bond'.
Reacting to Anthony's statement,
Azealia Banks tweeted, "So they don't want him in cause its gonna kill competition. A white actor simply cannot be Bond after Idris has. No one will care. Once Bond goes black he can't go back"
Another singer, Aled Philips of Welsh rock band, Kids in Glass Houses tweeted,
"Idris Elba is too street to play Bond? Ridiculous. He is an actor. Heath Ledger wasn't a homicidak maniac. Tom Hanks isn't a toy cowboy".
A fan shared similar sentiments and wrote.
"Okay Idris Elba could cast as Mary Poppins and be the right choice".
Journalist Alphonso Van Marsh believes Anthony's comment was racially driven despite authors claim it wasn't". "When one says its not a colour issue, it is a colour issue" , he wrote.
