SUPREME COURT DELIVERS JUDGEMENT ON FALSE ASSET DECLARATION BY NIGERIAN SENATE PRESIDENT

The Supreme court of Nigeria will today, friday February 5th deliver judgement on appeal filed by the Nigerian Senate  President, Bukola Saraki to squash the 13 count of false asset declaration which the Federal Government of Nigeria filed against him in 2015.



Saraki was dragged before the Code of Conduct Bureau over asset falsification as Kwara State Governor.

Saraki is challenging the authority of the tribunal to try him as well as asking the Supreme Court to dismiss the case.

A seven man panel headed by Justice Mahmud Mohammed is hearing the case by Saraki.

UPDATE:The  Supreme Court has dismissed Saraki's appeal over his trial on asset falsification trial by the code of Conduct Tribunal.

With this pronouncement, the Code of Conduct tribunal has been given the mandate to start the trial of Nigerian Senate President, Bukola Saraki over false declaration of assets when he was Kwara State Governor.
