CO-PILOT FORCED TO LAND PLANE AT RIYADH AIRPORT AFTER THE PILOT DIED OF MASSIVE HEART ATTACK

A Saudi passenger aircraft (Saudia Airlines) pilot, Walid Bin Mohammed Al Mohammed died of massive heart attack just minutes before landing the plane at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
His co- pilot, Rami Ben Ghhhazi took over on realising something was terribly wrong with the pilot and successfully landed the plane.

Ben Ghazi, the co-pilot radioed emergency to be on standby in order to to help the captain once he landed.

However despite efforts of the Cabin Crew applying emergency first-aid and an ambulance rushing at the scene, it was discovered that the captain was already dead and might have been killed instantly by the heart attack.


About 220 passengers were on board the flight which was en route to capital Riyadh from southern town of Bisha, also known as Qal'at Bishah.

Saudia Airlines have released a statement saying,

"The aircraft and passengers were not in danger for a moment as the co-pilot managed to land safely".

Saudia Airlines is the flag national carrier airline of Saudi Arabia and is the third largest airline in the Middle East behind Emirates and Qatar Airways in terms of revenue.
