LADY GAGA'S RELATIVES FOUND OUT SHE HAD BEEN RAPED AT THE AGE OF 19 ONLY AFTER THE OSCARS

Lady Gaga's relatives including her grandmother and aunt didnot know that she had been raped at the age of 19 until after the Oscars because Lady Gaga had been 'too ashamed and afraid' to tell anyone what had happened to her.
After Lady Gaga's performance of 'Till It Happens to You' from the rape documentary, 'The Hunting Ground' at the 2016 Oscars, her relatives called her and told her how proud of her they were for speaking out.

Posting a photo of her grandmother, Ronnie and Aunt Sheri, Lady took to Instagram and wrote,

"My grandmother and my Aunt Sheri both called me the day after the Oscars becauseI never told them I was a survivor. I was too ashamed. Too afraid. And it took me a long time to even admit it to myself because I'm Catholic and I knew it was evil but I thought it was my fault">

"I thought it was my fault for ten years. The morning after the Oscars when I talked to my grandmother Ronnie, with tears in my eyes I could hear them welling through the phone she said to me 'my darling granddaughter, I've never been more proud of you than Iam today'

Lady Gaga added,

"Something I have kept a secret for so long that I was more ashamed of than anything-became the thing the women in my life were the most proud of "
