OSCAR PISTORIUS GOING TO JAIL FOR A LONG TIME AS HIS MURDER CONVICTION APPEAL IS DISMISSED

Former Olympic  double amputee athlete Oscar Pistorius, 29, now faces a minimum jail sentence of 15 years after his appeal for murder conviction was dismissed.
South Africa's highest court ruled that Oscar's appeal had no reasonable grounds of success and rejected his appeal of murder conviction of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day of 2013.

Oscar has been on bail since December 2015 when the Supreme Court of Appeal found him guilty of murder and overturned his earlier conviction of manslaughter or culpable homicide.

National Prosecuting Authority Spokesman, Luvuyo Mfaku said today of Oscar's appeal,

"The court dismissed the application for leave to appeal because there are no prospects of success".

Oscar Pistorius will attend a sentencing hearing on April 18.

Oscar Pistorius had killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp while she was in the toilet, shooting four times through the door claiming that he thought it was an intruder.
