NIGERIA: FORMER PRESIDENT JONATHAN'S AIDE, DUDAFA ARRESTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

A former Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Matters, Waripamowei Dudafa was arrested by security operatives at the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos while trying to leave the country.
According to Premium Times, Dudafa is on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) wanted list for allegedly being involved in the sharing of ten billion naira to delegates during the presidential primaries of the then ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Dudafa is alleged to have converted the said sum into $47million and distributed to delegates from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Investigators say the funds were meant for the purchase of arms to tackle Boko Haram insurgents but was diverted as slush funds to politicians through the office of National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Dudafa was interrogated by State Security Service, SSS after his arrest and then handed over to EFCC.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren is yet to comment on the development.
