HOUSTON: BUS, RAIL SERVICES & GOVERNMENT OFFICES SHUT DOWN AS A RESULT OF TORRENTIAL RAIN

A heavy downpour in some areas 16 inches high has plagued Houston Texas and as a result city officials have had to shut down bus, rail services and government offices.
Residents of Houston have been advised to stay indoors and avoid any form of travelling.

CNN meteoroloist, Sean Morris explained the reason for the heavy rains,

"The situation is the result of a nearly stationary area of low pressure that has stalled over the western United States, allowing moisture from the Gulf of Mexico to flow to Texas over the last few days.

Though no deaths have been reported as at monday, the Mayor, Sylvester Turner says over 50,000 people are currently without power as a result of the heavy downpour.

Unfortunately the rains are expected to continue through Tuesday until it moves to the North East.

UPDATE: 5 people are reported to have died from the massive flooding.

Stay strong guys!!
